Name: Cherilyn Mercer
Nickname: Cherry
Seeming: Fairest
-Kith(s): Dancer, Succubus, and Nightsinger
Court: Spring Court
Age: Eighteen (at least that was her age when abducted)
Height: 5’7”
Appearance:
Cherry is almost painfully beautiful to look at. There are no flaws, scars, or marks on her peaches and creams skin. Her full lips are naturally a lovely shade of red and her vibrant peridot green eyes are rimmed with thick, dark and long lashes. Her hair is a myriad of deep, deep red colors—auburn so dark it almost looks black, wine shades, flashes of copper, and burgundy—and falls to her lower back in bouncy, shiny, and sleek waves. She has the ideal hourglass figure. Legs that are the perfect balance between shapely and slender. It is as if she was designed to be the feminine ideal and twisted until her body pushed beyond even that. Clothing is an optional part of her wardrobe.
Occupation:
Stripper, prostitute, and occasional singer.
Notable Traits:
She has few solid memories of her time in Arcadia and is incapable of answering most questions in regards to time there. If she comes close to remembering something, she’ll shut down and it’ll be awhile until she recovers. Her own reflection startles her sometimes as well, as if she isn’t used to the face she’s seeing and it catches her off guard.
Information Known by Changelings:
Cherry’s time in Arcadia is mostly a mystery and how she managed to not only fight through the Hedge but wind up on the ship is unknown. Although she doesn’t remember much of anything of her fae master, it is assumed they were viciously cruel. She exited the Hedge and wound up in one of the ship’s broom closets. It is also understood that Cherry was abducted a long, long time ago—so long ago she can’t begin to fathom the new technology and it has rendered her ability to work nearly null and void. Unable to find suitable employ, she is currently working in the Red Light district.
Background:
Cherilyn ‘Cherry’ Mercer had dreams of making it big. With her sweet voice, talent for playing the guitar, and natural affinity towards dancing, she thought she had what it took to become a pop star in Los Angeles. Everyone told her she did. At least her friends did—her family, a broken mess of thieves, addicts, and prostitutes didn’t support her flights of fancy. They wanted her to make something of herself, like being a cashier at the local 7/11 or working housekeeping for the local motel.
Unable to reconcile with the cards that life dealt to her, Cherry ran away from home two days before she turned eighteen. All she left behind was a note apologizing to her parents and little sister for leaving and the promise that she would make it big someday.
Somewhere in Nevada, Cherry ran out of money. At first she turned to busking, attempting to use her beautiful singing to make money enough to make it to California. Unfortunately, all she managed to do was catch the attention of a seedy strip club owner named Sullivan Brown. He owned and operated a place called ‘Arcadia’ and, according to him, they were looking for fresh-faced dancers. Stuck between a rock and a hard place, Cherry did what she had to do to make the money she needed to get to Los Angeles for her music career.
Cherry, unfortunately, never made it to Los Angeles. Three months into her job as an exotic dancer she took a client into the backroom for a lap dance and was spirited away to Arcadia. The actual Arcadia, where the true fae lived.
There she entertained her fae master by singing, dancing, and doing whatever else which struck his fancy. He was a violent man and inherently cruel, his whims shifting from one extreme to the other. Even if she wasn’t the one who caused his anger, she usually was the one to face the repercussions of his ire. She doesn’t remember what caused her to remember who she was or what gave her the opportunity to flee. She can’t even recall how she got through the Hedge, only that bits and pieces of who she used to be were left behind.
